Milwaukee Holiday Lights Festival

One of my favorite things in Wisconsin is the Christmas season. We are situated perfectly for it with the natural cold and snow.

One of the premier spots for the lights displays is Pere Marquette Park. They have a brilliant setup, and it is free!

The Lights Festival starts November 15th and runs through December.

You can also enjoy Chrismas lights shows at:

The Pabst Mansions A Grand Avenu Christmas, from November 16 through January 13. From the site:

"The Pabst Mansion’s A Grand Avenue Christmas has something for everyone with stunning decorations, engaging Milwaukee history, and events and activities for all ages. Each year’s magnificent décor attracts thousands and thousands of visitors, and this season will be no exception. Featuring over a dozen of the Mansion’s rooms elegantly transformed by local designers, businesses and residents with a flair for talent and a love for decorating. "

Go to one, or both, but have a good Christmas season in Wisconsin!

French Rioters

It looks like they are rioting in france again.

I don't know what they hope to accomplish, but it makes me glad I live in Wisconsin.
A quick follow up to my last post on Chili, here are many chili recipies for you

It will help with the contest for sure.
I just found my new favorite site. It is called Leena Eats and it is all about her food experiences.

She has a post up about her newest chili cookoff which sounds like a lot of fun, and delicious too!

Sex Over 50?

I am not 50 yet, but I see a lot of people over 50 on a daily basis.

I'm not sure I will be able to have sex much past 50, but according to CNN it is possible, and people are into it.

Maybe there is hope for me yet.

Great community site

There is a great new community site available for the Milwaukee area.

There is a special site for each Milwaukee community where you can find news, information, blogs, and local coverage.

To participate, go to the main page and chose your community.

They also link to a great sex offender map page. You just go there, enter your zip code, and it will show a map of all the sex offenders in your area. It is a little scary, but necessary these days.

Packers Win!

The Green Bay Packers beat the Chiefs last night, making for a happy Monday in Wisconsin.

Super high rez Last Supper

Leonardo Da Vinci's Last Supper is known to pretty much everyone, but seeing it in person is very had to do, and seeing reproductions of it just don't do it justice.

Enter the internet.

You can now view a super high rez version of the last supper according to this jsonline article.

What is MMSD?

This is not the most exciting post, but it is important for Milwaukee.

MMSD stands for Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District and they deal with water and wastewater. This is a big deal in Milwaukee because of all the problems we have had, going all the way back to crypto in 1996.

Anyway, they are negotiating the new contract to run Milwaukee's sewers, and it looks like our fees could go up 35%.

See jsonline for the scoop.
